The Army Contracting Command - Rock Island, on behalf of the Project Manager Closed Combat Systems, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, is issuing a sources sought notice to identify capable sources for the production and delivery of the following items. Solid Nose Fuze Plug (MXU-735) NSN: 1325-01-214-4314 DODIC: FW90 P/N: 923AS148 ITEM DESCRIPTIONS: The following parts are used on various MK80, BLU-110 and BLU-111 series bombs. Solid Nose Fuze Plug (FW90): This one-piece hemispherical solid can nose plug replaces the older two-piece system. It is a steel insert placed in the forward fuzeline of the bomb that aids penetration of hard surfaces and enhances delivery accuracy. The Government anticipates a one-time purchase of approximately 12,000 15,000 units. CRITICAL PROCESSES/SKILLS: The manufacture of this item requires skills, which include, but are not limited to: Forging and Heat-Treating Equipment, Machining Equipment (Lathe) An acceptable vendor must be able to display the skills of its employees and established expertise in completing essential operations of manufacturing the Solid Nose Fuze Plug.
