INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Department of Veterans Affairs (NCO 1), VAMC 830 Chalkstone Ave, Providence, RI 02908-4734, intends to award one (1) Procurement on a Sole Source basis, to Leica Microsystems for a Base year, no Option Years. BACKGROUND AND DESCRIPTION: The (1) Bond-III Processing Module, (2) the HistoCore SPECTRA CV, and the (3) HistoCore SPECTRA ST systems are manufactured by the OEM Leica Microsystems. These systems are currently being used in the VA’s Providence RI, Pathology and Laboratory department. The equipment is used for staining slides that are prepped with human tissue and are processed through various staining steps. See attached.
