THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE, NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ). AN RFQ WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND QUOTES WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. Defense Health Agency (DHA), Healthcare Contracting Division - South, intends to award a contract to the Mississippi State Department of Health to provide the Keesler Air Force Base labor and delivery unit with the State required newborn screening blood testing services. Requirement: This non-personal services IAW the State of Mississippi, sections 41-21-201 and 41-21-203 of the Mississippi Code of 1972. The Mississippi State Department of Health is responsible for carrying out the Newborn Screening and Follow-Up Program. The Mississippi Code of 1972 requires that blood samples be collected on newborns that are 24 to 48 hours old. The samples are shipped to the Mississippi Department of Healths screening lab for screening of congenital hypothyroidism, phenylketonuria, hemoglobinopathies, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, galactosemia, and 35 other conditions. The results will be made available through the Mississippi Department of Health screening laboratory portal and are then entered by military personnel into the MHS Genesis system.
