Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) - Mechanicsburg intends to solicit and award a base five-year requirements contract for the repair of approximately 540 ea., NSN: 7HH 5960-01-322-1337, Electron Tube, 10 KW Traveling Wave Tube, Part Number 5730321. This action is being negotiated on a sole source basis with Teledyne Defense Electronics, LLC, CAGE 11312, Rancho Cordova, CA in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition under Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR Part 6.302-1. Teledyne Defense Electronics is the designer and manufacturer of this item. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government does not possess or cannot provide the data necessary to perform the required repairs of the item. Repair of the existing item requires a license to Teledyne Defense Electronics proprietary data and methods. Further, any new design would have to be approved by the Government design agent, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division.
