Presolicitation NAICS 332216

The Naval Air Warfare Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole-source basis with Fastener Technology Corp. CAGE Code: 58794, for the procurement of a Flaring Tool, P/N T2797-12, NSN: 5120-01-664-3922 for the MQ-4C Triton Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) Program in support of the United States Navy (USN) and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). This Flaring Tool is used to create precise, leak-tight flares on rigid tubing for various fluid systems within the MQ-4C Triton Unmanned Aircraft System. The Government intends to solicit this requirement on a sole-source basis under the statutory authority of FAR 12.102(a), which states, for decisions to restrict competition for acquisitions valuated at or below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT), to document the decision that only one source is available, and the basis for that decision. The Flaring Tool is soley manufactured and distributed by Fastener Corp. as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), who has confirmed that they do not have authorized distributors.
