Notice of Intent to Sole Source Description of Requirement: The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and negotiate a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed-Price six (6) month contract with Set the Standard, who is a certified SDVOSB. This procurement is a bridge contract for urgently needed Sharps removal services for the New York Harbor VA Healthcare System. The anticipated award date is 10/17/2026. Background: Department of Veterans Affairs, New York Harbor Health Care System (NYHHCS) is seeking removal and disposal of regulated medical waste (RMW) services for each of three (3) campuses and two (2) associated outpatient clinics. RMW includes non-hazardous pharmaceutical waste, gen-ex cartridge waste, empty methadone bottles, pathological waste and trace-chemotherapeutic waste as well as reusable and disposable sharps exchange.
