The purpose of this contract is to enhance protection of children’s health. Children’s health is highlighted in Executive Order (EO) 14212 which states “the health of Americans is on an alarming trajectory that requires immediate action” and that “[t]his concern applies urgently to America's children.” This contract also supports the EO priority of “drastically lowering [children’s] chronic disease rates,” as well as fulfilling Pillar 1: Clean Air, Land, and Water for Every American. This also meets priorities of the national Children’s Environmental Health (CEH) Program by: 1) optimizing outreach for awareness and use of recently developed training and educational resources on environmental health issues that affect children relevant to a variety of audiences; 2) providing training and materials to build capacity of health care professionals to recognize and address key pediatric environmental exposures; and 3) enhancing accessibility to online environmental health education modules.
