SUBJECT Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Digital Interface Assembly (DIA), NSN 5998-01-522-7603, Part Number MT57M1190-3 and Bus Buffer Assembly (BBA), NSN 1095-01-523-5773, Part Number MT57E1212-2 ITEM DESCRIPTION The DIA and BBA are components of the BRU-57/A (BRU- Bomb Release Unit) Smart Bomb Rack used on the F-16 Fighter. The DIA provides the firing pulse to release stores from the BRU-57/A. The BBA divides the 1760 signal from aircraft stores management system to monitor and update loaded weapons for the BRU-57/A. The BRU-57/A DIA and BBA were developed specifically for use on the F-16 C/D aircraft with military unique requirements. The BRU-57/A is a MIL-STD-1760 capable, multiple-carriage, vertical-ejection Bomb Rack. The BRU-57/A provides side-by-side carriage and release of two 14-inch suspension stores.
