C-5 Fluid Regulating Valve NSN: 4820-00-185-1032 PN: 7720140-101 This requirement is a one-time, firm-fixed price procurement for repair of the C-5 Fluid Regulating Valve for use on United States Air Force (USAF) aircraft, NSN: 4820-00-185-1032, Part Number 7720140-101, quantity seven (7) each. The C-5 fluid regulating valve was designed specifically for the C-5 Galaxy aircraft which is a military transport aircraft. This part is peculiar to and will only be used on the C-5 Aircraft. The valve, PN 7720140-101, consists of an aluminum alloy housing and cover, a rubber-coated Dacron fabric diaphragm assembly and a mounting bracket. No external controls are required to operate the valve as pressure from the two aircraft liquid nitrogen (LN2) feedlines are fed through the valve, actuating the diaphragm assembly if the pressures are unequal. The valve senses the differential pressure between the two aircraft liquid nitrogen (LN2) feedline pressures at the fuel tank heat exchanger in the fire suppression system (FSS), then selects and directs the higher pressure to the valve pressure limiter port.
