Micro-Optic Stripe (MOS) is a specially designed feature that is bonded onto Type VI distinctive currency paper. During the Type VI distinctive currency paper making process the MOS is accurately applied to be registered, in both horizontal and vertical directions, to distinctive substrate watermarks. This results in the creation of an overt security feature on the Catalyst Family Design (CFD) Federal Reserve Note (FRN) produced by the Bureau of Engraving & Printing. The intended contractor is Crane Company Inc. This notice of intent is not a request for offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice, if any, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
