PURPOSE: This is a Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought announcement only. This is not a solicitation announcement. The NCO 15 Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP), Contracting office is conducting market research only to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and is issuing this sources sought notice for a Mail Opener and Extractor with a Scanner in support of Mail by Meds (MbM) at Cheyenne, WY and Murfreesboro, TN. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: The Department of the VA is looking for an industrial Mail Opener/Extractor and a Scanner to scan hard copy pharmacy prescriptions and upload the documents onto a VA utilized digital workflow platform (i.e. InterSystems, HealthShare) storage device. The scanner must be able to scan and sort documents into multiple sort bins. The equipment must be stand alone and have the ability to raise and lower for the operator. The equipment must be able to process a minimum of 10,000 documents per day within an 8-hour shift. The scanner device must be able to scan into TIF and JPEG formats.
