This is a notice of intent to solicit and award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(2), only one source being available to meet the Government s needs. The contract will be for a one (1) year base period, and two (2) one (1) year ordering periods. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and award a sole source contract for the rental and maintenance for an entire suite of various flexible endoscopes comprising of GI, Bronchoscopes, and Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) to Olympus America Inc, 3500 Corporate Parkway, Center Valley, PA 18034. There are no other source of supply/service that will satisfy agency requirements. The Olympus scopes are already being leased and maintained for the GI, Pulmonary, ENT doctors at the VA Southern Nevada Health Care System, 6900 N Pecos Rd, North Las Vegas, NV 89086. Remaining with Olympus scopes will eliminate the need for additional equipment, will reduce training requirements and allows the use of existing reprocessing equipment with no additional purchase of cleaning equipment or attachments.
