This is a special notice prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 "Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions." The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District and the Bonneville Power Administration are jointly responsible for compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act under the terms of the 2009 System wide Programmatic Agreement for management of Historic Properties affected by operation and maintenance of the Federal Columbia River Power System. The Portland District has the responsibility under Federal law to preserve for future use certain collections of archeological artifacts, specimens, and associated records. The Portland District requires curatorial services from a Contractor located in the State of Washington to carry out this responsibility. The Contractor shall be able to provide for the professional care and management of the collection and property held in trust and perform all work necessary to protect the collection in accordance with the regulation 36 CFR part 79 for the Curation of Federally-Owned and Administered Archeological Collections.
